Skateboarding is going airborne soon with the first real commercially marketed hoverboard.

The 90-pound Hendo Hoverboard allows users to float above a pillow of air, and swivel and glide their way a few feet forward each time.

Creators Greg and Jill Henderson say their hoverboard uses magnetics to float about an inch off the ground.

They believe their technology will someday be used to transport large containers or hold buildings above earthquakes as the ground shakes below.

But for now, hoverboarding is all about fun. Although there are still some glitches.

The Hendo Hoverboard currently only works for about 15 minutes before it needs recharging, it can only operate over metal surfaces, and it has a price tag of $10,000.
