Sen. Lindsey Graham: The FBI is Down 6,000 Agents
When it comes to the war on terror, former 2016 Republican presidential candidate Sen. Lindsey Graham says it all comes down to spending.
“The FBI has lost 6,000 agents due to budget cuts. The Army is going to be at 1940 levels – the Navy at 1950 levels. I want to restore our defense cuts and our intelligence cuts so we can fight a war we can afford to win,†he told the FOX Business Network’s Stuart Varney.
House Democrats on Monday revived legislation that would allow the FBI to reject firearm purchases to people on the terror watch list – a measure that Republicans rejected in December.
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton spoke to supporters following the deadly mass shooting in Orlando and outlined plans to combat ISIS, reiterated her call for a national ban on assault-style weapons and the need for a bipartisan response to terrorism.
Meanwhile, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump reiterated his proposed suspension on Muslim immigration into America.
“It’s not about gun control and banning all Muslims doesn’t win the war – it makes it harder to win the war… When an American citizen shows an allegiance and sympathy to our enemies, they ought to be treated as enemy combatants. We have to partner with Muslims to win this war,†said Graham.
