Ordering Pizza Just Got a Whole Lot Easier

Pizza is a $44 billion dollar industry that is made up of over 70,000 pizzeria chains around the U.S. according to PMQ magazine. With every Domino's (NYSE:DPZ), Papa Johns (NASDAQ:PZZA), or Little Caesars that opens in your town, there is a local pizzeria that gets run out. Mamma Mia!

There are 33,000 local pizzerias across the nation making up a $19 billion dollar industry, according to PMQ . FOXBusiness.com sat down with Ilir Sela the founder of Slice, a mobile-ordering platform, on what he is doing to help local pizzerias keep their doors open.

“There’s not enough support for small business across the country”

- Ilir Sela, CEO of Slice.

“We use technology to help customers order and reorder from digital menus… This one brand, one platform unites and represents all local pizzerias.” Ilir said.

Slice is a digital platform that uses mobile-ordering technology to assist old-school pizzerias to continue making that dough. You can place orders, locate your neighborhood’s favorite pizza spot, and even pay -- all without ever leaving your couch.

Sela grew up in the New York City borough of Staten Island, working in pizzerias since he was in grammar school. Through firsthand experience he understands the value a local pizzeria has to its community. That's what inspiried him to launch a platform helping these small business owners stay competitive.

“Growing up I was surrounded by proud pizzeria owners, which gave me an inside look at the industry from day one. I wanted to leverage my experience to create a bridge between pizza shop owners and their loyal customers using mobile technology,” Sela said.
