Online forum Reddit enacts anti-harassment policy amid user frustration

Free-wheeling online discussion forum Reddit is enacting an anti-harassment policy in response to user complaints.

Reddit said in a blog post Thursday that it is "unhappy with harassing behavior" on the site and its survey data shows that its users are too.

Reddit says it defines harassment as "systematic and/or continued actions to torment or demean someone" that would make them fear for their safety or conclude that Reddit is not a safe place to express ideas.

Users being harassed can report the offending message or post via email. Reddit says it will handle each situation separately, and responses could include banning users.
