Man seen in mystery selfie comes forward after Los Angeles County burglary victim finds photo
Authorities say they've identified the couple whose selfie was snapped with a Southern California burglary victim's phone.
Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Joshua Dubin says Thursday that a man came forward and is working with detectives. The woman also has been identified.
Investigators have not released the man's name, but Larry Beltran Jr. tells KNBC-TV that he and his girlfriend are the people in the photo. Beltran says his aunt bought the iPhone at a swap meet and says he's humiliated to see his photo widely circulated.
Officials released the selfie Wednesday and have branded the pair persons of interest, not suspects, in the theft.
A Santa Clarita woman whose home was ransacked and electronics were stolen July 30 spotted the selfie in her cloud account.
