John Kasich: America Needs a More Business-Friendly Environment
Republican presidential candidate Gov. John Kasich says he wants to focus on including all Americans in his plan for growing the economy.
“Economic success and growth means that everybody’s included,” Kasich told FOX Business Network’s Neil Cavuto. “Whether you’re drug addicted, mentally ill, the working poor, a member of the minority community… America needs to rise. We all are part of the American family. I believe very much in inclusiveness, ending the division, create jobs, economic growth, strength in the military and send the signal to everyone in the country that you’re part of us, we love you… we want you to do well.”
The Ohio governor said he is not a supporter of the current Iran nuclear deal.
“Frankly, the deal is so bad because they’re not only going to get a nuclear weapon, but they’re going to have a lot of cash to put to fund these radical groups that want to destroy our friends and hate our way of life,” Kasich said.
Kasich also told Cavuto he doesn’t believe Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s tax plan is right for America.
“[It’s a] terrible idea,” he said. “What we really need to do is to do what we did in Ohio. Modernize government and get ourselves in a position of where we deregulate and that we cut taxes and we’re business-friendly.”
Kasich said the next commander-in-chief should focus on creating a better environment for businesses in the U.S.
“The next president needs to have people who are business-friendly all throughout the Cabinet; we need to shift power out of Washington… and provide the incentives for businesses to invest in plants and equipment so workers can have the tools to have greater productivity and higher wages."
He added, “the tax code needs to be simpler. It needs to come down at the top and we need to provide incentives to the working poor at the bottom.”
