How to Prep for Facebook's New Timeline Design
Facebook has announced plans to launch its new Timeline Design for brands, platform-wide later this month. With a few weeks to prepare, here are some things your small business should know about the design, according to genConnect.com social media expert Kathryn Rose.
No. 1: Changes to images. The new size for your logo square can be no greater than 180x180 pixels, Rose said.
No. 2: Cover photo guidelines. The cover image you use for your timeline cannot have price or purchase information about your company or contact information that is intended for your business' "About" section. It is also not allowed to have user interface actions such as "Like" or "Share" or calls to action for your business.
These images are public and can't be in any way deceptive or misleading, or infringe on third-parties' intellectual property.
No. 3: Fans can privately message the brand. This allows you to respond directly back to fans, rather than doing so through a personal profile, which is helpful for customer service reasons.
