Florida AG on Suing EPA Over Air Quality Rules

A group of attorneys general – on behalf of 17 states -- is suing the EPA over air quality rules, alleging they go too far. Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi joined FOX Business Network’s Cavuto: Coast to Coast to discuss the lawsuit.

“This is a bipartisan effort,” she said. “They’re coming in and we will not, as state attorneys general, stand by and let the EPA come in and use their heavy-handed tactics to come into each of our states and try to control everything we do.”

In the meantime, Bondi says the states involved in the lawsuit won’t break any laws.

“In Florida and all of our states we’re going to follow the law,” she said. “We’re going to follow what the courts tell us to do, but we have got to fight back against the federal government. When they try to take over our states, we are the last line of defense and we are not going to stand by and let them do this. We can’t.”

She added, “we have to protect our air quality. We have to protect consumers’ rates, which will go up based on this -- and do everything we can to protect our states … The EPA should be called ‘excessively punishing America’ because that’s what they’re doing now.”
