EBay to Ask Users to Change Passwords, PayPal Website Says

EBay (NASDAQ:EBAY) plans to ask all users to change their passwords, according to a post on its PayPal unit’s media relations website.

The posting didn’t provide any additional information, and a link to “read more” yielded an error message. The posting appeared to disappear by about 7:40 a.m. ET.

The e-commerce giant didn’t immediately respond to a FOX Business request for comment.

Many companies asked users to change their passwords after a bug in the technology that encrypts much of the Internet – called Heartbleed -- was revealed in April.
