President Trump warned Iran about additional sanctions if U.S. forces are expelled.

Gold is the best way to protect your portfolio from rising tensions between the U.S. and Iran, according to Goldman Sachs.

The benchmark S&P 500 has fallen about 1 percent following Solemani’s death while gold and oil have rallied more than 3 percent and 5 percent, respectively.

The global benchmark for crude oil rose above $70 a barrel on Monday for the first time in over three months, with jitters rising over the escalating military tensions between Iran and the United States.

Oil prices have continued to rise, with Brent crude trading above $70 a barrel.

Brent crude traded up 3.5% to $68.60 a barrel.

Billionaire investor Marc Lasry said the U.S. killing Iran's top general won't hurt financial markets as long as the economy remains strong.
