Fed deluged by letters from needy over its loan program

The U.S. Federal Reserve on Wednesday released thousands of letters and emails from individuals, businesses and nonprofit groups this spring urging the central bank to widen access to its Main Street Lending Program to more entities struggling to survive the coronavirus-triggered recession.

Coronavirus cases spike in Sun Belt, other states back off on reopening

The Sun Belt states have seen the highest recorded coronavirus deaths, infections and hospitalizations in the past few days. The soaring numbers have raised fears that many other states could see the same phenomenon if they reopen too, or that people from the South and West could spread the virus to other regions.
