Trump signed the first phase of a trade deal with China on Wednesday, marking an easing in tensions that have rattled global markets.

"We're running out of time."

Under the phase one U.S.-China trade agreement, Beijing has agreed to buy between $40 billion and $50 billion in American agriculture -- roughly 25 percent of overall purchases, the secretary of agriculture said.

Energy will emerge as a bigger benefactor over agriculture.

The deal was signed Wednesday in Washington.

Although agriculture has been getting the most attention, these other three sectors will benefit from China deal, USDA trade adviser Tom Kehoe said.

"This is a great win for American business and American farmers," U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said.

As the U.S. and China prepare to sign the phase one trade deal, Chinese officials are appealing to American companies for their business, FOX Business' Edward Lawrence reported.

Unlike the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, Trump can sign the executive agreement and then avoid an extended congressional approval process.

"This is something that we'll have to monitor," United States trade representative Robert Lighthizer said in regards to China's intellectual theft.

JPMorgan Chase chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon sat down with FOX Business' Maria Bartiromo, saying "it's good they are doing this trade deal."

The U.S. economy will be boosted by signing Phase One of the China trade deal, former Reagan economist Art Laffer said.

China’s removal from the list is a "want" from Beijing before the deal is signed.

In the fourth quarter of 2019, Ford's sales dropped 14.7 percent.

The U.S. government is planning to permanently halt its civilian drone program due to the devices being made at least partly in China.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the administration's goal is to cut off oil revenues going to "bad acts."
