Objections to a historic settlement with Purdue Pharma are mounting in the form of appeals, with Rhode Island's attorney general saying Wednesday the plan doesn't hold the OxyContin maker or its owners accountable for its role in sparking the opioid crisis.


Judge set to rule on Purdue Pharma's opioid settlement plan

A federal bankruptcy judge is expected to rule Wednesday on whether to accept a settlement between OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma, the states and thousands of local governments over an opioid crisis that has killed a half-million Americans over the last two decades.


NRA bankruptcy trial starts Monday

The NRA announced on Jan. 15 that it was seeking relief in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division. However, the organization has said it is looking to re-incorporate in Texas from New York, where it has been incorporated for 150 years.
