“Businesses are going to do what’s best for them. So what we need to do is make it more desirable, easier for companies to manufacture goods in the United States … which is something we’ve been doing exactly the opposite for the prior eight years under President Obama,” Puzder told FOX Business’ Trish Regan.
Puzder described the economic results America could achieve if Trump’s economic policies are enacted.
“If we can make it more desirable to make things here, you are going to see the economy grow, you are going to see jobs get created, [and] you are going to see income inequality reduced,” he said.
Another thing the former nominee for labor secretary believes could boost the economy is the Senate’s health care bill, which he says will increase competition among insurance companies, thereby lowering costs.
“We have a very very good bill, in the Senate right now. It gives consumers money, it makes plans that they want to buy available to them, it sets up health savings accounts so they can use money that’s pre-taxed to pay for non-covered expenses. It puts competition back in the system,” he said.
