Giuliani on Whether He’s Interested in Running the FBI

Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani again on Friday said, at this point, he is not interested in being a part of President-elect Donald Trump’s administration. He told the FOX Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo that he has not changed his mind about staying put in the private sector.

“I wrote President-elect Trump, my very good friend of 28 years, a letter, I think it was on November 27 or 28, saying that I didn’t want to be considered for a government position. I want to do everything I can to help him ... I'll do everything I can to help him from the [private sector]. If there’s something I can do, that he thinks nobody else can do—or that I can do better ….”

Bartiromo then pressed Giuliani to respond to reporting from FBN’s Charlie Gasparino on speculation within the FBI that the former NYC mayor may be tapped to replace FBI Director James Comey.

“There will be a lot of speculation, but … I’ll let you know if I change my mind, but I haven’t changed it. I’m staying in the private sector,” he said.

“So you’re not going to run the FBI?,” Bartiromo asked.

“I’m going to remain [in the private sector and] and hopefully develop the best solution to cyber security in the world, that’s my dream. My dream is to try to solve the cyber security problem, and I can’t tell you I’m on the verge of doing it, but I’m getting there,” he said.
