Midwest Manufacturing Hits Five Month Low

The Institute for Supply Management’s gauge of factory activity in the Midwest region fell to 50.6 in October from 54.2 the month prior. Wall Street expected a smaller decline to a reading of 54.0. This is the lowest erading since May. Readings above 50 point to expansion, while those below indicate contraction.
