1. Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)


Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) shares are slumping more than 1% after New Jersey said it wouldn't license the automaker to sell its high-tech vehicles directly to consumers. The move came despite an intense lobbying effort by the firm.

2. CSX (NYSE:CSX)


CSX (NYSE:CSX) cuts its 2014 earnings growth view after severe weather challenged its operations and shipping volume. Shares of the railroad giant are down 1%.

3. American Eagle Outfitters (NYSE:AEO)


American Eagle Outfitters (NYSE:AEO) shares are falling for the second day in a row. Wednesday's move was sparked by a downgrade by Morgan Stanley to "underweight" from "equal weight."

4. Commodities


They aren't stocks per se, but exchange-traded products let equity investors play fluctuations in commodities. Oil futures are down 1%, gold is up 1% and copper is extending a steep drop. Potential ETFs include the U.S. Oil Fund (NYSE:USO) and SPDR Gold Trust (NYSE:GLD).

5. Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB) | Halliburton (NYSE:HAL)


Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB) and Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), both giant oilfield servicing companies, are worth keeping an eye on with oil prices down sharply again.
