Williams-Sonoma (WSM) was a major gainer in the sector, rising 11.6% (+$4.45) to close at $42.68 with 7.8 million shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $41.38 to $42.94. Shares have shown some positive movement over the last two months as the price has climbed $9.37 (28.1%) from a price of $33.31 on June 25, 2012.
Tower International (TOWR) was a major loser in the sector. Its price dropped 6.8% (-64 cents) to close at $8.84, as 14,308 shares moved. The stock traded in a range of $8.50 to $9.44. The stock has lost momentum over the last three months, losing $3.07 (-25.8%) from $11.91 on May 25, 2012.
Hooker Furniture Corporation (HOFT) rose 2.8% to close at $12.11, cross its 50-day moving average of $11.82 and 200-day moving average of $11.94. Tempur-Pedic International (TPX) declined 3.7% to close at $31.82, moving below its 50-day moving average of $28.65 and 200-day moving average of $47.55.
Tesla Motors (TSLA) rose 2.9% to close at $29.95, approaching its 50-day moving average of $30.05. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $31.26.
