CARBO Ceramics (CRR) was a major loser in the sector, falling 15.1% (-$12.14) to close at $68.48 with 2.7 million shares moving. The stock traded between $67.98 and $87.33. The stock has been declining recently, and shares are down $17.78 (-20.6%) from a price of $86.26 on July 19, 2012.
InterOil Corporation (IOC) was a significant gainer in the sector, rising 12%. The stock closed at $84.50 with 1.7 million shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $79 to $86.53. Similarly, Cameron International (CAM) gained today, increasing $5.07 (+11.3%) to close at $49.91.
Helmerich & Payne (HP) rose 5.8% to close at $45.77, cross its 50-day moving average of $44.00 and 200-day moving average of $50.86.
Eni S.p.A. (E) rose 6.3% to close at $39.50, approaching its 50-day moving average of $40.48. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $42.65.
