The Capital Goods sector (XLI) showed little movement while the S&P 500 gained 1.2% during trading today.

As a proxy for the sector, the ETF tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past month. Entering today's trading, XLI was down 5.3% over the last thirty trading days while the S&P 500 climbed -4.8%.

China Ming Yang Wind Power Group (MY) was a major loser in the sector. Its price dropped 15.1% (-27 cents) to close at $1.52, as 269,193 shares moved. The stock traded between $1.45 and $1.76.

Terex Corporation (TEX) was a major gainer in the sector, rising 11% (+$1.87) to close at $18.80 with 6.3 million shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $17.66 to $18.87. The stock has fallen over the last three months, dropping $6.54 (-25.8%) from $25.34 on March 1, 2012. Beacon Roofing Supply (BECN) also gained today, climbing $1.75 (+7.2%) to close at $26.13.

USG Corporation (USG) rose 8.2% to close at $16.95, cross its 50-day moving average of $16.44 and 200-day moving average of $13.89.

Twin Disc Incorporated (TWIN) rose 7.8% to close at $20.92, approaching its 50-day moving average of $21.35. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $29.39. Quanta Services (GLDD) fell 0.7% to close at $22.53, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $22.14. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $6.48.

DXP (DXPE) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $50.35 to top the previous high of $49.50.
