BPZ Resources (BPZ) was a major loser in the sector. Its price dropped 12.1% (-41 cents) to close at $2.97, as 2.6 million shares moved. The stock traded between $2.91 and $3.40. The stock has been on a downward trajectory over the last two months, decreasing $1.16 (-28.1%) from a price of $4.13 on March 13, 2012.
Natural Gas Services Group (NGS) was a major gainer in the sector, rising 10.9% (+$1.30) to close at $13.27 with 158,333 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $12.11 to $13.52. The stock has fallen over the last three months, dropping $1 (-7%) from $14.27 on February 13, 2012. Alon USA Energy (ALJ) was another big mover, climbing 65 cents (+8%) to a closing price of $8.77.
Panhandle Oil and Gas (PHX) rose 2.7% to close at $27.72, cross its 50-day moving average of $27.48 and 200-day moving average of $29.73.
Ultra Petroleum (GLP) fell 2.5% to close at $20.60, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $20.28. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $22.02.
Buckeye Partners L.P (BPL) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting $51.52 to fall below the previous low of $52.46.
