During trading today, the Consumer/Non-Cyclical sector (XLP) showed little change while the S&P 500 fell 1.2%.

The ETF is 0.1% ahead of its 50-day moving average and 4.2% above its 200-day moving average.

Coffee (JVA) was one of the sector's big losers, as its price dropped 4.6% (-43 cents) to close at $9.02. 282,025 shares of the stock moved. The stock traded between $8.95 and $9.49. The share price has dropped $2.90 (-24.3%) from $11.92 on March 14, 2012.

Increasing 3.1% (+65 cents) to close at $21.81, B&G Foods (BGS) was a major gainer in the sector. Today, 475,190 shares traded hands. The stock traded in a range of $21.08 to $21.89. Over the last three months, the stock has lost $1.58 (-6.8%) from a price of $23.39 on January 17, 2012.

ZHONGPIN INC (HOGS) rose 2.2% to close at $9.70, approaching its 50-day moving average of $10.15. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $9.81. Anheuser-Busch InBev (ATX) fell 2% to close at $70.86, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $70.40. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $10.91.

Monster Beverage (MNST) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $65.53 to top the previous high of $64.22.
