During trading today, the Retail sector (XRT) showed little change while the S&P 500 fell 1.7%.

The ETF is trading at 2.9% of its 50-day moving average while exceeding its 200-day moving average by 106.8%.

The Talbots Inc. (TLB) was a major gainer in the sector, rising 1.7% (+5 cents) to close at $3.08 with 691,169 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $3.03 to $3.13. Share price rose over the last three months, now up 36 cents (13.2%) from $2.72 on January 11, 2012.

The Wet Seal, Inc. (WTSLA) was one of the sector's big losers, as its price dropped 1.3% (-4 cents) to close at $3.16. 1.1 million shares of the stock moved. The stock traded in a range of $3.09 to $3.24. The stock has seen some negative movement recently as shares are down 38 cents (-10.7%) from a price of $3.54 on April 2, 2012.
