On the Road Again…And Again
As a business traveler, life on the road is not always easy. Between organizing your plans, trying to catch flights, finalizing presentations on top of the daily hustle and bustle of the regular work week and everyday life, the last thing you want to worry about is what you need to pack for your business trip. To make life on the road a little easier, we list the items every business traveler should always keep packed.
Always having deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste in your suitcase is obvious, but many travelers overlook sunscreen and contact solution. Even if you're not headed to a beach, it’s still important to protect your face.
First Aid Kit
Accidents happen, sicknesses creep out of nowhere and nothing is worse than having a migraine and not having an aspirin handy. Have a fully-stocked first aid kit (keep in mind TSA regulations) to make sure nothing slows you down.
What if your plane is delayed? Or you're stuck in back-to-back meetings all day and don't have time to eat? It’s hard to perform well on an empty stomach, so it’s a good to carry a couple non-perishable energy bars to keep your mind off your stomach and on your meetings.
Bed Bug Spray
Road warriors should not be bug warriors! Bed bugs are not a good souvenir to take home and are a pain (not to mention expensive) to get rid of. Give the recent bed bug epidemic that hit several cities throughout the globe, it’s a good idea to carry this spray in your suitcase in case you get stuck staying in a questionable hotel.
We rely on electronics more than we realize, particularly when in an unfamiliar location. It's a good idea to buy an extra charger for essential electronics to keep in your suitcase so you never find yourself without a working smartphone or laptop on the road.
You don't necessarily need to keep this pack in your suitcase (after all you don’t want it to wrinkle), but you should have a 'travel suit' standing by in your closet.
Being a corporate road warrior sometimes means having to be ready to hit the road at a moment's notice. No one wants to be stuck traveling without an essential item. Here are the items business travelers should always keep packed.
