New beer claims thirst quenching abilities

There is a new beer on the market claiming it can quench your thirst. Dogfish Head Craft Brewery founder Sam Calagione says there are two key ingredients behind the brewery’s low-calorie SeaQuench Ale, “Basically you’ve got black limes, culinary limes, and sea salt, so we’re not putting anything, you know, crazy into our beer.”

Calagione says lower alcohol summer beers particularly from craft brewers are on the rise in the U.S.

“Sessionability lower alcohol really approachable beers are definitely gaining traction in America and they don’t have to be the light lagers that come from the massive conglomerates, small breweries can brew really flavorful low-alcohol beers,” Calagione told the FOX Business Network’s Stuart Varney.

The craft beer industry has become increasingly competitive for brewers such as Dogfish Head.  According to Calagione, “There is 5,500 great little indie-craft breweries across America.”
