Johnny Bench Launches App to Keep Your Kids Safe
October is National Bullying Prevention Month and baseball legend Johnny Bench joined the FOX Business Network’s Varney & Co. to talk about his new app with Smithfield Foods that aims to prevent bullying in schools.
“This app is going to be able to make your kids go to school feeling much more safe,” he told FBN’s Stuart Varney.
“They will be able to report any cyber bullying happening to them to the school and the school will address that,” he said.
Bench, who has sons that are 7 and 10 years old, says the app will also allow parents to be instantly informed on security incidents and school closings.
“If you have a situation in your school, they will be able to go in a say, we are in a lockdown, all kids are safe,” he said.
Bench said schools will pay a monthly maintenance fee, but the app is free to download for all users.
“Basically it’s a $5,000 app overall and Smithfield is providing 5,000 schools with this app,” he said.
