“This first authorized biography is a way for me to go back through my entire career. The great American dream right here,” Gordon said on the FOX Business Network’s Varney and Co.

The FOX NASCAR broadcast analyst has made over $100 million in earnings throughout his career.

“It’s been a very lucrative business for me. A race car driver can do very very well if they get into the top organization or team at NASCAR level,” Gordon said.

Gordon’s career spans 23 years at the cup level where he had 93 career NASCAR Cup victories and is ranked third on the all-time wins list. NASCAR's all-time great began racing at the early age of 5 and said it took him until the age of 9 or 10 until he started to get paid for racing.

“A lot of people think they are just going round and round, but there’s a lot going on. What the teams are doing to try to get the cars to go faster than their competitors. What the drivers are doing, trying to get an advantage on their competitors,” Gordon said.

Gordon said it’s pretty easy to sell NASCAR racing to fans especially when you have three and four wide races at 200 mph.

“Our racing is about side-by-side, cars sliding around. The drivers really play a big big role in how they maneuver that car around,” Gordon said.
