The Gun Cave indoor firing range owner Jan Morgan weighed in on the rise in gun sales.

“Well of course they’re on the rise, they’re going to continue to be on the rise until we do something about ISIS in this country,” Morgan told the FOX Business Network’s Sandra Smith.

But President Obama and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton both used the Orlando shooting to renew calls for further gun control measures, and in particular, an assault weapons ban.

“We make it very easy for individuals who are troubled, or disturbed, or want to engage in violent acts to get very powerful weapons very quickly,” said the president.

Clinton added in a speech in Cleveland on Monday, “It is essential that we stop terrorists from getting the tools they need to carry out the attacks. And that is especially true when it comes to assault weapons like those used in Orlando and San Bernardino.”  (moved this graf up)

Morgan said much of the surging sales are based on Americans’ concerns that the government isn’t doing enough to ensure their safety.

“People are afraid, they do not trust this administration to protect them, and who blames them? What kind of government is more concerned about appeasing Islamic terrorists than they are protecting the constitutional rights of the American citizen?”

Morgan then explained an interesting trend in gun sales.

“The largest group of people buying guns right now in America is women. Women are buying guns; I’ve trained over 8,000 people across the United States over the past year as a state police certified firearms instructor and a majority of those people taking those classes are women. And interestingly enough, they’re also seeking concealed handgun permits.”

According to Morgan, the solution to stopping attacks such as the ones in Orlando and San Bernardino is more law-abiding citizens with guns.

“The answer to eliminating mass murder in this country and defending life is not less guns, it’s more guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens. And of course a majority of the law-abiding citizens want to buy guns from registered federal firearms licensed facilities.”
