Boston Market CEO: Thanksgiving is our Super Bowl

Ahead of Thanksgiving Day, Boston Market CEO George Michel discussed the big impact of the holiday for the chain restaurant with FOX Business Network’s Stuart Varney.

Michel said the restaurant plans to serve one million meals on Thanksgiving Day.

“Between these [meals] and heat-to-serve, people are coming to buy their packages, and there are [also] customers that come in last minute rushes to get their mashed potatoes or gravy because they’re going to a friend’s house so they would like to take something with them.”

“We also promote in-dining,” Michel said, as “a lot of people that are traveling tomorrow are going to come to our restaurants to eat great turkey meals.”

Michel also discussed efforts to support the restaurants on their busiest day.

“Well I’m actually the big chicken at Boston Market, that’s what my title says, but the GMs are our CEOs and we are there to support them.  I’m there to work with them, I have fun working with them on Thanksgiving, so does the rest of our executives… that’s what we’re there for.”

Michel addressed why the holiday is so important to Boston Market.

“It’s our biggest day, our Super Bowl,” he said.
