ISIS Using Tech to Harm U.S.: GOP Candidate Fiorina

Carly Fiorina, GOP candidate and former CEO of Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) kicked off Fox News Channel’s GOP Debate by telling the American people her time in Silicon Valley make her the right person to run the country.  “I think to be commander-in-chief in the 21st century requires someone who understands how the economy works,” she said.

Fiorina, who orchestrated HP’s $25 billion merger with Compaq in 2002, which at the time was the largest tech merger in history, said the U.S. needs to toughen up cyber policies against our foreign rivals. “We also need to tear down cyber walls that China is erecting, that Russia is erecting. We need to be very well aware of the fact that China and Russia are using technology to attack us, just as ISIS is using technology to recruit those who would murder American citizens.”

Fiorina also said she supports more collaboration between tech companies such as Apple (AAPL) and Google (GOOG) and the government in an effort to fight homegrown terrorism.
