The Season's Best Apps for Bargain Shoppers

The holiday shopping season is upon us, which is great news for bargain hunters, but the sheer volume of seasonal deals can be overwhelming.

Fortunately, there are some helpful apps to help you navigate the sales, find the best discounts, manage your shipments and even earn money while you shop.

1. RetailMeNot

RetailMeNot is a comprehensive database of retail discounts. The service claims it has over 500,000 coupons from 50,000 stores, from Walmart to Kate Spade.

Type in your favorite brand and RetailMeNot will provide you with a printable coupon or a code for online orders. Bookmark your favorite stores to receive alerts when a new deal is added.

The app also utilizes your location to show you the best deals nearby, making it easier to determine which sales to shop. With RetailMeNot, there’s no longer a need to hoard coupons and discount emails.

2. Shopkick

The great thing about Shopkick is you are effectively paid to shop. Walk into a store and receive points -- or “kicks” that can be redeemed for gift cards.

Target, Macy’s and Best Buy will all give you points for stopping by. Scanning barcodes and making purchases will result in even more points.

Gift card participants include Starbucks, Sephora and even Tiffany’s. Get yourself a little something for braving those crowds at the mall.

3. Slice

Online shopping just got easier with Slice. The app imports all of your tracking information and keeps it in one place.

There’s no longer a need to type tracking codes into shipping websites. Slice automatically alerts you when your package is on the way.

Slice will tell you when the price drops of an item you just bought, so you can get a refund. The app also provides a bar chart, showing you a breakdown of your holiday spending.

Hopefully you won’t break the bank if you use these apps.
