Small Business of the Day: Starzraven

Who: Amy Sagan, 31, @starzraven

What: A personalized paper goods and gifts Web store

When: January 2010

How: Sagan was looking for a job that would allow her to stay home with her children and still support the family when she came across the online shop Zazzle.com. She signed up in 2009 and posted a few print-on-demand items, and sold a few things.

"It made me realize that maybe I could do something with this (store)," Sagan said. "I have a background in art, and although I wasn't dedicated to it, I always had an interest."

She decided to dedicate more time to the business and has been able to generate income from her designs online.

Where: St. Clair, Pa.

In her own words: "Depending on how fast things progress and continue to grow, I'd  like to open a physical store as well," she said.
