FOX Business's Mobile Monday highlights new, recently-updated, and useful apps for your smartphone from the Apple App Store and the Google Android Marketplace.  See even more cool apps from Mobile Monday here.

Bank of America for iPad

Sure, there have been plenty of iPhone apps for all the major U.S. banks, but few have really taken advantage of the large screen of the iPad. Enter Bank of America’s new app. “Customized and optimized” specifically for the iPad, BofA’s app lets users perform transactions like transfers and bill payments, using a calendar view. The app also uses a ledger layout to show account balances.

RockMelt

Mobile browser RockMelt aims to provide “quick access to your online world.” It lets users quickly access bookmarks to sites from anywhere, synchronizing them with the RockMelt cloud. RockMelt also integrates a social networking experience. Facebook users, for example, can “like” and comment on posts, and Twitter users can post updates directly from the app. Further, the app lets users save content to read later on, as Instapaper does, but from right inside the app.

Slacker Radio

iPhones and iPod touches now have access to Slacker Radio and, with a premium or plus subscription, can even store content from stations on their device for listening without an Internet connection. Slacker Radio features 120 expert-program stations in high-quality audio. Users can also create their own custom stations. It also displays album art and biographical information on artists.

Zipcar

Need to reserve a last-minute Zipcar on the go? Android users can now book cars right from their smartphones using Zipcar’s new beta Android app. Users can also honk their rented car’s horn and even unlock its doors from their phone. The app, however, is in beta, so be aware that there could be some bugs as its still under development.

DoubleTwist

Who says you need an iPhone to use Apple’s new AirPlay multimedia-streaming ecosystem? Android music player app DoubleTwist can now wirelessly stream content from an Android device to Apple AirPlay-compatible devices like Apple TV. This comes in the form of DoubleTwist’s AirSync add-on, which also lets users wirelessly synchronize their music with their desktop computer.

WatchESPN

Can’t get enough sports television? The WatchESPN app for Android does exactly what its name implies: watch live ESPN anywhere you go on your Android devices. However, it’s restricted to only certain providers (including Time Warner Cable and Verizion FiOS). The app is also available for iOS devices.
