Coronavirus causes Activision Blizzard's e-sports league to cancel games

The league includes four teams in China

The Overwatch League is facing the pitfall of being a global league.

Blizzard announced that China-based games taking place in February and March have been canceled due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, according to The Verge.

Blizzard is a unit of the video game company Activision Blizzard.

In a tweeted statement, the company said the decision was made out of safety.

The league, in its inaugural season, has teams in North America, Europe and Asia, including four teams in China.
