It operates through the following segments: Rail Technologies & Services, Precast and Steel Products & Measurement. The Rail Technologies & Services segment consists of manufacturing and distribution businesses that provide products and services for freight and passenger railroads and industrial companies. The Precast Concrete Products segment involves manufacturing, distribution, and service businesses that provide products and services for the transportation, energy, and general infrastructure markets in North America. The Steel Products and Measurement segment designs, manufactures, and supplies steel bridge products to contractors performing installation and repair work to North American transportation infrastructure network. The company was founded by Lee B. Foster in 1902 and is headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA.
