Avista Corp. is a holding company, which engages in the electric and natural gas utility businesses. It operates through the following segments: Avista Utilities and Alaska Electric Light and Power Company (AEL&P). The Avista Utilities segment includes electric distribution and transmission, and natural gas distribution services in parts of eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Northeastern and Southwestern Oregon. The AEL&P segment offers electric services in Juneau. The company was founded on March 15, 1889 and is headquartered in Spokane, WA.
