North Korea shows sanctions do work: Trish Regan

President Donald Trump’s tough economic sanctions against North Korea are working and taking a toll on the rogue regime, according to FOX Business’ Trish Regan.

“Sanctions do work”, Regan said. “I know they do, if we do them right.”

The sanctions imposed by the U.S. Treasury Department on the Hermit Kingdom targets the country's shipping, trading companies and vessels.

The New York Times noted progress, writing, “But there is no doubt the latest sanctions are causing pain in a way that earlier rounds did not.”

Regan said imposing government sanctions in a way is like dealing with these countries that at times behave like small children.

“It’s kind of like, you know, if you tell your children that if they keep acting that way, they are going to bed early, but then you don’t enforce the bedtime,” she said. “Well guess what, it doesn’t work.”

Trump is set to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in a critical meeting that Regan says has the potential to change the course of history.

“We are on the right path,” she says. “He will be the first president to meet with the North Koreans.”
