Alicia is a personal finance editor and writer with a focus on student loans. Having successfully paid off more than $80,000 of her own school loans, she's passionate about helping others navigate the complex student loan system and get out of debt faster.

Previous work experience includes editorial positions at Forbes, Student Loan Hero and FinanceBuzz. Earlier in her career, Alicia developed college-level eBooks, managed a literary journal and worked as a copyeditor at a trade magazine for the cheese industry.

When she’s not working, Alicia enjoys cooking, traveling, watching true crime documentaries and doing crosswords.

Alicia earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in publishing and writing from Emerson College.
