Yamaha recalls about 200 snowmobiles for problem that can cause brakes to fail

Yamaha is recalling about 200 snowmobiles because of brake problems that can cause an injury or death.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday that the brake line can touch the clutch, causing them to fail. No injuries have been reported, the CPSC said.

The snowmobiles were sold at Yamaha dealers around the country between February and April. They cost between $13,000 and $14,100. The recalled snowmobiles are blue and orange and have the model names SR10LSFO or SR10M62LF printed on the fuel tank cover.

Yamaha said customers should stop using the recalled snowmobiles and contact their nearby dealer to schedule a free repair. Yamaha said it will also contact registered owners directly.
