Yahoo, Broadcom, EMC Spur Tech Trading Early

SAN FRANCISCO – Tech stocks opened with mixed results Wednesday, with gains from Yahoo Inc. and Broadcom Corp. being countered by losses from the likes of EMC Corp. and VMware Inc. . Reaction to earnings reports was at the root of all the tech leaders' market performance. The Nasdaq Composite Index , which includes many big-name tech stocks, was off by 6 points at 4,412.
