Wynn Resorts wants Steve Wynn's ex-wife off board; Elaine Wynn vows to run for re-election

Wynn Resorts Ltd.'s board of directors says it want Steve Wynn's ex-wife off the panel.

In a financial filing Friday, the board said it would not re-nominate Elaine Wynn because of conflict-of-interest concerns and a legal complaint she has pending against her ex-husband and the company's CEO, Steve Wynn.

The board says Elaine Wynn sent it a letter saying she will nominate herself at an annual shareholder meeting April 24. In a statement Monday, she says she's extremely disappointed and reviewing her options.

Elaine Wynn co-founded Wynn Resorts and has served as a director since October 2002.

In 2012, Elaine Wynn sued CEO Steve Wynn to nullify an amended stockholder's agreement restricting her ability to sell shares.

Wynn Resorts spokesman Michael Weaver says Steve Wynn supported his ex-wife's re-nomination.
