Workers at Sea-Tac airport hold strike against aviation contractor over labor, safety concerns
Baggage handlers, cabin cleaners and ramp workers employed by Alaska Airlines contractor Menzies Aviation have walked off the job at Sea-Tac International Airport.
The workers are picketing on Friday to protest what they say is unfair labor practices_including intimidation, threats, and harassment — by their employer.
The Menzies Aviation workers also say they're also demanding a safe workplace.
The workers plan to picket all day Friday and hold a 10 a.m. rally where they'll be joined by community leaders.
The workers are asking the public to send a message to Alaska Airlines to tell their contractor to respect the law.
Messages left with Menzies Aviation seeking comment were not immediately returned.
