Woman sentenced in Tulsa embezzlement case

A former manager of a Tulsa explosive-demolition company has been sentenced to federal prison after admitting to embezzling more than $600,000 from the company.

The Tulsa World reports 50-year-old Monica Lynn Miller was ordered Wednesday to serve nearly three years in prison.

Miller was charged with wire fraud in February 2016, in connection to a scheme that allegedly occurred from 2009 to 2015. She pleaded guilty last year to embezzling from Dykon Explosive Demolition Corp.

Dykon spokeswoman Donna Redyke asked the judge to apply "full maximum penalty" to the "cold-hearted embezzler."

Miller apologized in court to her former company, relatives and friends, saying she hurt many people through her "selfish and careless decisions."

Miller has been ordered to report to the prison by July 5 to begin her sentence.
