Woman in New York street harassment video sues director, organization; seeks at least $500,000

A woman who was the centerpiece of a video about street harassment in New York City has filed a lawsuit against its director and the organization that put it out.

Shoshana Roberts filed her lawsuit in Manhattan on Monday. The lawsuit says her performance and likeness were used for "advertising or trade without her prior written consent" and she's looking for at least $500,000.

The video compiled comments and catcalls Roberts heard from men as she walked Manhattan streets over the course of 10 hours. It had millions of views online.

The lawsuit names director Rob Bliss and an anti-street harassment group called Hollaback! that released the video.

Bliss hasn't replied to an email seeking comment. Hollaback! says it hasn't been served with papers and won't comment.
