Woman flying to New York after appearing on 'Judge Judy' charged with stealing iPad, passport
A woman flying from Los Angeles to New York after appearing on "Judge Judy" has been arrested on charges she stole a crew member's iPad and a passenger's passport and bank card.
A spokesman for Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police said Thursday that Melissa Perez was charged with grand larceny and possession of stolen property.
Joe Pentangelo (pehn-TAN'-jeh-loh) says the 26-year-old Bronx woman was flying to Kennedy Airport on Wednesday.
He says while midair, an American Airlines crew member noticed her iPad was missing. He says it was found inside Perez's bag.
Pentangelo says a passenger's passport and bank card were also reported missing and detectives found them in Perez's underwear.
Perez's attorney information wasn't immediately available.
Details of her "Judge Judy" appearance weren't immediately clear.
