Windstream Holdings beats 1Q profit expectations, misses revenue forecasts

The broadband and communications company posted revenue of $1.42 billion in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.43 billion.

Windstream shares have decreased 20 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed 1 percent. The stock has declined 27 percent in the last 12 months.
