Whole Foods Shares Rise After Earnings Beat
Whole Foods Market Inc. shares rose in the extended session Wednesday after the high-end grocery chain topped Wall Street estimates. Shares of Whole Foods rose 6.1% to $42.42 on heavy volume. Whole Foods reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of 35 cents a share on revenue of $3.26 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected 32 cents a share on revenue of $3.26 billion. The company also forecast sales growth of "over 9%" in 2015, which would put sales at more than $15.47 billion. Analysts are looking for 2015 revenue of $15.85 billion.
