White House: 2 Western Hostages Held By Al Qaeda Killed By Accident

Two Western hostages held by al Qaeda were killed by accident during January raids in the border region straddling Afghanistan and Pakistan, the White House said Thursday. The statement said that Dr. Warren Weinstein, an American, and Giovanni Lo Porto, an Italian national held since 2012, were accidentally killed.
