Vertex Pharma Shares Rise On Better-than-expected Results

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. shares rallied in the extended session Wednesday after the company topped Wall Street expectations for the quarter. Shares of Vertex jumped 6.2% to $127.50. The company reported an adjusted loss of 13 cents a share on revenue of $309.8 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had estimated a loss of 46 cents a share on revenue of $246.2 million.
