ValueAct Takes 5.7% Stake In Agrium

ValueAct Capital Management L.P. on Friday disclosed a 5.7% stake in fertilizer company Agrium Inc.. The San Francisco-based investment company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it owns nearly 8.2 million shares in the Canadian company but didn't disclose any reason for the investment. Agrium shares were up 1.9% on light volume in premarket trade.
